Our goal is equal access.
We want visitors to understand and use our content, forms, tools, and programs regardless of ability or technology.
Dollars & Sense and PDCC LLC are committed to making our website, educational content, tools, resources, programs, and digital experiences usable by as many people as possible—including people with disabilities.
We want visitors to understand and use our content, forms, tools, and programs regardless of ability or technology.
Our work is guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our goal.
Accessibility is reviewed as our content, tools, forms, technology, and third-party services change.
If a barrier prevents access or completion of a task, contact us for assistance or an alternate format.
Dollars & Sense believes financial education should be understandable and available to everyone. We are working to provide digital experiences that people with visual, hearing, mobility, speech, cognitive, learning, neurological, and other disabilities can access and use.
This commitment applies to dollarsnsense.io and, where reasonably within our control, its articles, navigation, forms, calculators, workbooks, downloads, newsletters, courses, webinars, workshops, videos, and related digital content.
Accessibility is a continuing process. Websites and third-party technologies change over time. We evaluate reported issues, prioritize improvements, and work to remove barriers as they are identified.
Our current goal is to align dollarsnsense.io with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Accessibility Initiative.
WCAG organizes accessibility around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. We use those principles to guide design, development, content creation, testing, and remediation.
This goal is not a guarantee that every page, file, embedded service, or third-party component will meet every success criterion at all times. It identifies the framework we use when evaluating and improving accessibility.
The W3C publishes the complete WCAG 2.2 standard and supporting guidance.
Depending on the page or service, our practices may include:
Navigation, links, buttons, menus, forms, and controls designed to work without a mouse.
A visible indicator showing which interactive element currently has keyboard focus.
Headings, landmarks, lists, labels, and reading order intended to support screen-reader navigation.
Alternative text for meaningful images and appropriate treatment of decorative images.
Text, controls, links, and focus indicators designed with readable color contrast as a goal.
Content designed to reflow across desktop, tablet, mobile, zoom, and enlarged-text settings.
Descriptive links, form instructions, labels, and error messages intended to explain purpose.
Respect for supported browser or device preferences that request reduced animation.
We also work to avoid relying on color alone to communicate meaning, avoid unnecessary flashing or auto-playing content, and provide sufficient time and clear instructions for tasks under our control.
Accessibility cannot be confirmed by one automated scan. Our approach may include automated checks, keyboard review, zoom and reflow checks, color-contrast review, screen-reader spot checks, content review, and feedback from users.
When developing or updating content, we work to review areas such as:
New content or technology can introduce unexpected barriers. Reports from visitors help us identify areas that require correction or an alternative solution.
The website is designed for current versions of commonly used browsers and operating systems. Accessibility can vary depending on the combination of browser, device, settings, extensions, operating system, and assistive technology.
For the best experience, use a current browser and keep your operating system and assistive technology updated. Older or unsupported software may not interpret modern website code consistently.
Having trouble? Tell us the page, feature, browser, device, and assistive technology involved. That information can help us investigate more effectively.
Dollars & Sense may provide PDFs, workbooks, spreadsheets, checklists, guides, videos, audio, and other downloadable or streamed materials. We work to improve the accessibility of these materials, but older files, complex worksheets, or files created through third-party software may not be fully accessible in every format.
We work toward providing captions for prerecorded videos containing spoken information and transcripts or text alternatives when appropriate. Automatically generated captions can contain errors.
If you cannot access a document or media item, identify the file or content and tell us the format or assistance you need. When reasonably possible, we may provide accessible HTML, tagged PDF, editable text, a transcript, a description, or direct assistance.
The website may include or link to third-party forms, videos, social networks, payment processors, scheduling systems, course platforms, mortgage portals, calculators, or other services. We do not control every aspect of those external services.
We consider accessibility when selecting or configuring providers and encourage them to support accessible experiences. However, a third party’s content, interface, policies, and accessibility support are controlled by that provider.
If a third-party component creates a barrier, tell us. We will evaluate whether we can adjust the integration, provide another way to complete the task, supply the information directly, or refer the issue to the provider.
Despite our efforts, some visitors may encounter barriers. Potential limitations may include:
When a limitation is reported, we will review the issue and determine a reasonable correction, workaround, or alternative method of access.
If a disability prevents you from accessing content, using a tool, completing a form, registering for a program, or obtaining information, you may request assistance or an alternate format.
Security reminder: Do not email Social Security numbers, complete account numbers, passwords, tax records, or other highly sensitive information. We will direct you to an appropriate secure method when necessary.
We welcome feedback about the accessibility of Dollars & Sense. Email hello@dollarsnsense.io with the subject line “Accessibility Feedback” or “Accessibility Request.”
Helpful information includes:
Tell us what you were trying to access and what would make the information or task usable for you.
We will review the request, may ask questions to better understand the barrier, and will work toward a reasonable response. The time required depends on the complexity of the issue, the format requested, whether a third-party provider is involved, and whether development or remediation work is necessary.
When immediate technical correction is not practical, we will consider an alternate way to provide the information, service, or transaction. We may also use feedback to improve similar content elsewhere.
Accessibility requests are handled respectfully. You will not be charged an additional fee solely because you request a reasonable accessible format or method of communication.
We may update this statement as the website, content, technology, accessibility practices, or applicable guidance changes. The updated statement will be posted on this page with a revised date.
Accessibility questions, feedback, accommodation requests, or alternate-format requests may be sent to:
For the fastest review, include “Accessibility Request” in the subject line and identify the page, document, tool, or service involved.
